CALL FOR PROPOSALS | VISUAL ART + MUSIC
Diversite artistique Montreal (DAM), Atelier d’Art Métèque and Café Mariposa are calling on artists for a collective exhibition at Métèque, a NDG-based gallery promoting cultural exchange.
Entitled “Câline de blues”, in honor of Gerry Boulet’s famous song, this exhibition is an antidote to Blue Monday; the third Monday in January being the most depressing day of the year. Yes, it’s cold, yes, it’s dark and yes, winter is definetely truly settled. To get through this ordeal, let’s turn the gloom into bloom and celebrate!
Visual artists are invited to submit works that reflect their relationship – happy, sad or even indifferent – to this famous blues.
Submissions may contain up to 5 works that must be accompanied by a sheet including the title, medium, size and prize of each, as well as a short biography of the artist. All selected artists will be required to pay a $ 40 fee to cover expenses as well as for a chance to win a solo exhibition in 2018 at Atelier d’Art Métèque.
To submit your application, send these documents to email@example.com by Sunday 24 December at midnight.
The exhibition will be launched with an Art Brunch on Sunday, January 14 at noon and will be held until February 4, 2018.
Musicians interested in revisiting Gerry Boulet’s song “Câline de blues” by adding their personal touch, are invited to submit an MP3 version by Sunday 24 December at midnight to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The selected artists will perform at Metèque on Monday, January 15th at 6pm, in partnership with Café Mariposa and the Posa Blues group. Cachet $ 150.
